Pokémon VGC 2011 World Championships

, , No Comments

The biggest event of the year, the World Championships took place on August 12-14, 2011 as 30 qualified players competed in San Diego, California! This tournament used a ruleset where players were only allowed to use Pokémon available in the Unova Pokédex.

In the end, Ray Rizzo was able to his 2nd World Championships title thanks in part to his supportive Thundurus, a build that was very innovative at the time. This Thundurus was able to use powerful support moves such as Thunder Wave to help enable his more powerful Pokémon like Terrakion and Hydreigon.
