The first-ever
VGC 2023 Regulation A Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Regional Championship was held as 531 players traveled to compete at the 2023 San Diego Regionals on January 7-8, 2023. Players battled through 10 Swiss Rounds where the Top 32 players advanced to a single-elimination bracket. This event was held using open team lists, meaning players were able to view their opponent's team information during battle.
Team Northwest held this event as players battled for a piece of this event's $11,000 prize pool and up to 200 CP to help qualify for the upcoming 2023 World Championships. The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) was in San Diego to broadcast this Regional with
